Autism Friendly Shopping

Here in Waterford Shopping Centre Lisduggan, we aim to make shopping an enjoyable experience for everyone. We have created a storyboard to support people with autism, and their families, in navigating the centre with ease and confidence.

Arriving at the Shopping Centre

📍 You will arrive at Lisduggan Shopping Centre.

🚗 There is parking outside. You can walk through the main doors to go inside. We have two main entrances.

Entering the Centre

🚪 When you walk in, the space is bright and open.

🪑 There are benches if you want to sit and rest.

🗑 Bins are available to keep the area clean.

Walking Around

🛍 The centre has shops and services on both sides of the walkway.

👣 You can walk down the tiled floor and look at the shop windows.

🪄 It might be busy sometimes, but there is plenty of space to move around

🧃 You can find many types of shops – for food, clothes, beauty, and more.

Shopping Centre music turned off on Wednesdays 5-7pm and Saturday Mornings 10am to 11am

🤝 Shop staff are friendly and happy to help if you need anything.

💡 It’s okay to take your time and look around. Gadget Man & Mr Price are great places to visit as they allow for “touch” on a majority of their items for sale.

Taking a Break

🪑 If you need a break, you can sit on one of the benches. It’s a calm space where you can relax before continuing shopping.

We also have Sensory kits if you feel overwhelmed, please visit Tesco and T-Junction Cafe.

To avail of these items please present the cashier/sales assistant with a JAM Card, Sunflower card or an AS I AM Card they will then present you with a sensory kit (subject to availability)
